Green Wave Primary Logo

The Tulane Green Wave primary logo has been around since the school’s inception in 1834, although it has gone through several changes over the years. The current version of the logo features a white fleur-de-lis on a green shield with a “T” for Tulane in between two crossed oars. This design is meant to represent both academics and athletics at Tulane University, with its academic roots being represented by the fleur-de-lis and its athletic prowess symbolized by the oars.

The original version of this logo was designed in 1895 as part of an effort to create a unified look for all university sports teams. It featured three gold stars above a blue wave crest that was bordered on either side by laurel leaves - which are symbolic of victory and excellence - along with another “T” inside an oval shape beneath them all. While this design remained unchanged until 1972 when it received minor modifications such as changing from gold stars to silver ones, adding more depth to some elements like making laurels thicker or wider; or replacing one star with two smaller ones arranged diagonally instead – these small adjustments helped keep up appearances while still keeping true to tradition behind it all.

In 2008 however, after much deliberation among students faculty members alumni board members, and other stakeholders who were involved throughout various stages during the development process; they decided that they wanted something fresher looking than what had been used before so they created a new modernized version which included only one large star at a top center position within circular shield containing green wave pattern background plus updated font typeface lettering style underneath whole thing also changed color scheme slightly to giving us what we now know today to be official primary trademarked emblem associated institution across many different platforms including social media marketing materials apparel merchandise etcetera.
