In 1983, the Drexel Dragons introduced a new logo to become the foundation for all future designs. The updated logo featured a more detailed and realistic dragon, with its wings and tail now fully visible. The letters "DU" were replaced with the word "Drexel" written in bold, capitalized letters above the dragon.
