Chanticleers Primary Logo

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have been a proud member of the NCAA since 1993. As such, they've had a long and storied history with their iconic logo. The primary logo for the Chanticleers has gone through several iterations over the years, each one reflecting an important part of the team's identity and history.

The original version of the logo featured a cartoon-style rooster wearing sunglasses and holding up three fingers in what was meant to symbolize victory or triumph over adversity - something that has become synonymous with Coastal Carolina athletics as they continue to compete at high levels throughout all sports programs on campus. This design was used from 1993 until 2003 when it was updated slightly to include more detail and shading around its edges while still keeping its overall look intact.

In 2011, another change occurred when an entirely new concept replaced this older version - featuring two roosters facing off against each other in front of crossed swords set atop a blue shield emblazoned with CCU (Coastal Carolina University). This particular design is said to be inspired by medieval heraldry which makes sense considering how much traditionalism plays into collegiate athletics today; however, some argue that it also pays homage to former military members who attended or graduated from CCU during their service time as well! Either way, you look at it though – this current iteration serves as an effective reminder not only about what it means ‘to be’ but also ‘what we can do together’ both on-and-off field/court/track etcetera…

Finally – no matter which version you prefer most out of these three distinct designs – all are equally representative of our beloved school spirit here at Coastal Carolina University! So whether cheering them on during the game day or simply showing your support any other time throughout the year – make sure to wear proudly display whichever style works best for YOU! Go CHANTS!!
