Bulldogs Primary Logo
The Alabama A&M Bulldogs have a long and proud history of athletic excellence. The primary logo for the team has changed over time, but it remains an important symbol of their heritage.
The original logo was created in 1950 when the school first adopted its current name, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU). It featured a black bulldog with white eyes wearing a red collar on top of an orange background. This design remained unchanged until 1976 when the university decided to update its look by adding more color to the dog’s fur as well as making him larger and more detailed in appearance. In 1997, another redesign occurred which saw some minor adjustments such as changing his eye color from white to brown and giving him some additional features like whiskers around his muzzle area.
Today's version still maintains many elements from previous designs while also introducing new touches that make it unique among college logos across America; most notable is how he now appears with three stars above his head representing AAMU’s core values: knowledge, service & leadership! This updated design continues to be used proudly by all members associated with this great institution - whether they are students or alumni - showing off their Bulldog pride wherever they go!
