Chargers Alternate Logo
The Los Angeles Chargers alternate logo has a long and storied history. It was first introduced in 1961 when the team moved from San Diego to Los Angeles, making it one of the oldest logos in NFL history. The design features an interlocking "LA" with a lightning bolt running through it, creating an iconic symbol still used today.
The original design was created by renowned graphic designer Saul Bass who also designed many other famous logos, including AT&T's globe and United Airlines' tulip-shaped logo. Since its inception, the Chargers' alternate logo has been tweaked several times over its lifetime but always kept true to its roots as an homage to LA and electricity - two things synonymous with Southern California culture at large!
Today, this classic yet timeless look remains one of the most recognizable symbols associated with professional football teams worldwide; even those who don't follow American football can quickly identify this iconic image thanks to decades of television exposure and merchandise exposure! As such, it stands as a testament to how far sports branding can go and how powerful visual communication can be when done right - something we should all strive towards achieving no matter what industry we work in or the project we undertake!
