Jaguars Alternate Logo
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a long and unique history with alternate logos. The team was founded in 1995, but it wasn’t until 1998 that the first alternate logo was introduced. This original logo featured an orange jaguar head on a teal shield-like background. It quickly became popular among fans and is still part of the official team crest.
In 2005, the Jaguars unveiled another alternative logo featuring two crossed swords behind an angry jaguar face wearing a black helmet with gold stripes across it. This design has become known as “the fiercest Jaguar ever” due to its fierce expression and intimidating presence compared to other teams' mascots or logos at that time in NFL history. The two crossed swords were also symbolic of courage, strength, honor, and loyalty, all traits associated with being successful on the football field for any franchise during this era in professional sports culture.
Finally, in 2017, the Jacksonville Jaguars debuted yet another new alternate logo, featuring just one sword held by a fierce-looking jaguar face against an orange backdrop instead of teal like before. While some may view this change as minor, it speaks volumes about how far Jacksonville's brand identity has come since its inception into the league over twenty years ago. This latest iteration emphasizes power & ferocity while still maintaining elements from previous designs, such as color schemes & shapes, ultimately creating something truly unique for both players & fans alike to be proud of moving forward into future seasons!
