Chargers Alternate Logo
The San Diego Chargers have had a long and storied history, with their iconic lightning bolt logo being one of the most recognizable in professional sports. The team has undergone many changes over the years, including alternate logos used as part of promotional campaigns or to signify different eras in franchise history.
The first alternate logo was introduced during the late 1960s when they changed from wearing powder blue uniforms to navy blue ones. This new design featured an image of a charging horse inside a yellow circle with white stars around it and “SD” written underneath for San Diego. It became known as “the horseshoe” and was worn on helmets until 1984, when it was replaced by another version featuring an angry-looking bulldog wearing sunglasses instead of a horse.
In 2002, yet another change came about when they unveiled their current primary logo, which features two lightning bolts coming down from each side into what looks like waves crashing against rocks at sunset; this is still used today, but there are also several other variations such as one with just one lightning bolt or even without any bolts at all just featuring the sun setting behind some hillsides which can be seen on hats or t-shirts occasionally released by Nike or other retailers who partner up with them for special promotions throughout year-round events like training camps, etc. All these designs help bring more character to this beloved franchise so fans can show off their pride no matter where they go!
