Oilers Alternate Logo
The Tennessee Oilers' alternate logo history is an interesting one. It began in 1997 when the team relocated from Houston, Texas, to Nashville, Tennessee, and adopted the name “Tennessee Oilers.” The original logo featured a navy blue circle with a white outline of the state of Tennessee inside it. The words "TENNESSEE OILERS" were written in bold red letters across the top half of the circle while two oil derricks stood at each side on either end of it. This logo was used until 1998, when they changed their name to “Tennessee Titans.” It unveiled a new alternate logo featuring three stars arranged in an upside-down triangle shape against a navy blue background with "TITANS" written underneath them in white lettering.
In 1999, another change was made as they introduced their current primary shield-style design that features two crossed oil derricks over a field goal post behind which stands an eagle bearing its wings outstretched above them both, all set against yet again another navy blue background but this time with light gray trimming around its edges instead of just being plain like before plus having "TITANS" inscribed into it once more too for good measure as well! This has been their go-to look ever since then. Even though there have been some slight variations here or there, such as different colors used for certain elements in each version, not much else has changed about how this particular emblem looks today compared to what we first saw nearly twenty years ago now already!
All things considered, though, no matter how many times they might alter something minor every now & then, ultimately, at heart remain quite faithful towards honoring those same classic roots that started everything off so long ago, way back during those early days after moving away from Houston – thus making sure everyone knows exactly who these guys are no matter where you may be located geographically speaking throughout our great nation regardless if it's near or far away alike: They're proudly known simply by one word alone…the mighty TENNESSEE TITANS!!!
