Atlanta Hawks
A minor update to the Atlanta Hawks primary logo for the 2020 – 2021 NBA season, the Hawks updated the font used in the wordmark in the roundel and also removed the word “CLUB” from the logo entirely. The team’s modernized “Pac-Man” logo remains, surrounded now with “ATLANTA HAWKS BASKETBALL” in white.
Hawks Alternate Logo
The Atlanta Hawks have a long and storied history of alternate logos. From the classic “Pac-Man” logo to the more recent “Screaming Hawk,” these logos represent different eras in the team's history. The first alternate logo was introduced in 1992 and featured a cartoonish version of an angry hawk with wide-open wings. This design was used for two years before being replaced by another cartoonish version featuring a larger, more menacing bird designed to resemble an eagle instead of a hawk.
In 1995, the team switched their look again when they unveiled what became known as their "Pac-Man" logo; this design featured an orange circle with white eyes representing Pac-Man chasing after three yellow dots representing basketballs bouncing around him. This iconic image has become synonymous with Atlanta Hawks fandom since it debuted over 25 years ago and is still seen on merchandise today!
More recently, in 2017, Atlanta released yet another unique take on their mascot when they unveiled what became known as "The Screaming Hawk." It features a fierce-looking red bird screaming outwards while clutching onto both sides of its head – truly capturing all that is intimidating about hawks! Though not everyone loves this new look (some prefer older designs), it has become part of Atlanta's identity over time due to how often it appears at games or even just throughout popular culture references such as movies or television shows set within Georgia itself!
