Mavericks Alternate Logo
The Dallas Mavericks have had an array of alternate logos throughout their history. These logos are often used as a way to commemorate certain events or anniversaries, and they’re also a great way for the team to express creativity and show off its unique identity. The first logo was introduced in 1996 when the team moved from Reunion Arena to American Airlines Center. This original logo featured a blue star with white trim around it, which represented Texas pride and loyalty towards their home state.
In 2011, the Mavericks unveiled another alternate logo that has since become one of their most popular designs: “the Mavs Maniacs” mascot head wearing sunglasses with crossed arms underneath it forming an "M". This design is meant to represent both strength and attitude – qualities that any championship-winning basketball team needs! It also serves as an homage to all of those who support the franchise through thick and thin (aka “Maniacs").
Finally, in 2017, yet another new look was released featuring two interlocking stars above text reading “Dallas Basketball”; this time honoring both past successes while looking ahead towards future greatness on behalf of this iconic NBA franchise! The colors chosen for this design were navy blue & silver - paying tribute once again back home in Texas where these same hues can be found across many different flags & emblems associated with our beloved Lone Star State! All three versions still remain part of Dallas' visual identity today – each providing distinct looks depending upon what kind of message you want your fans/followers to see when viewing them side by side...or even better yet mixing them together into one big collage celebrating over 20 years worth memories here at Mavs Nation!!
