76ers Alternate Logo
The Philadelphia 76ers have a long and varied history when it comes to their alternate logos. The team has used several different designs over the years, all of which capture the spirit of the city and its basketball franchise. From classic stars-and-stripes motifs to modern takes on traditional imagery, each logo tells a unique story about Philadelphia’s beloved basketball team.
One of the most iconic logos in 76ers history is that of “Big Ben” – an image depicting Benjamin Franklin holding up three fingers signifying his famous quote: “We must all hang together or assuredly we shall all hang separately." This logo was used from 1996 until 2003 before being replaced by one featuring stars arranged in a circle around Liberty Bell – another symbol closely associated with Philadelphia's heritage. In 2010, this design was updated yet again with blue accents added for extra flair and vibrancy; this version remained until 2015 when it was retired along with other classic designs like "The Iverson" (from 2004) as well as "Philly Phanatic" (from 2009).
Today, fans can look forward to seeing new versions of these old favorites each season as part of special events such as Throwback Nights or Heritage Weeks at Wells Fargo Center where they honor past players while embracing current ones too! With so many great options available for them to choose from there is no doubt that everyone will be able to find something they love among these timeless symbols representing everything Philly stands for - freedom & resilience!
