Magic Alternate Logo
The Orlando Magic is a professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida. The team was established in 1989 and has been one of the most successful teams in the NBA ever since. Over the years, they have had several different logos to represent their brand. Each logo has its own unique history that embodies the spirit of this proud franchise.
The first logo for the Magic was unveiled when they joined the NBA back in 1989 and featured a cartoon-like figure with an orange star on his chest holding a basketball above his head while standing atop an outline of a Florida state map with “Orlando” written across it at bottom left corner and “Magic” written across top right corner along with stars surrounding both words indicating strength and power associated with new franchise name itself as well as city which it represents respectively. This particular design remained unchanged until 2005 when slight modifications were made such as changing the color scheme from blue/white/orange to black/silver/blue; replacing the cartoon figure with a modernized version that features the same character but is more realistic looking; addition of wordmark underneath image instead having just two words printed around edge; adding gold trimming all around outside border complete look overall making feel much sleeker than before yet still retaining originality from initial concept drawing back 1990s era thus maintaining link past present-day fans alike can appreciate nostalgically speaking.
