Chaparrals Primary Logo
The Dallas Chaparrals are a professional basketball team that has been around since 1967. The team is now known as the San Antonio Spurs, but during its time in Dallas it was one of the most successful teams in the ABA (American Basketball Association). Throughout their history, they have had several different primary logos which represent their unique identity and brand.
The first logo used by the Chaparrals was introduced in 1967 and featured an orange circle with white stars on either side of a blue “C” for “Chaparral” inside. This logo remained unchanged until 1971 when it was changed to feature two red horse heads facing each other with a yellow outline between them representing speed and agility. In 1975, this logo underwent another change when they added three more stars above each head to represent Texas pride while also making some minor color changes such as changing from orange to yellow for certain elements of the design.
In 1976, after nine years using various versions of this original design concept, The Chaparrals decided to switch things up again by introducing what would become one of their most iconic logos yet: an image featuring two interlocking hands shaking against a background composed entirely out black-and-white stripes—symbolizing unity among players and fans alike throughout Texas . This particular version stayed relatively unchanged until 1979 when slight modifications were made before being retired altogether shortly thereafter following merger into NBA (National Basketball Association). Even today however , many still recognize these classic designs whenever someone mentions "Dallas Chapparal" or "San Antonio Spurs".
