Nets Wordmark Logo
The New Jersey Nets have had a long and storied history, with many changes in their logo over the years. The team first began to play as the New York Americans in 1967 but changed its name to the Nets when they moved to Long Island two years later. From there, they went through several different logos before settling on their current one: an orange basketball with blue netting behind it and "NETS" written across it in white font.
In 1989, after moving from Long Island to New Jersey for good, the team adopted its now-iconic wordmark logo featuring a bold black typeface that reads “New Jersey” at the top and “Nets” at the bottom separated by two thin lines of red trimming around each lettering groupings. This design has remained largely unchanged since then despite some minor tweaks throughout time such as adjusting colors or changing up certain details like serifs or line weights within letters themselves—all while still maintaining the core shape of the original mark intact today!
The iconic wordmark is beloved by fans worldwide; not only does it represent a great deal of pride for those who live near Newark where home games are played out but also serves as a reminder of how far the franchise has come since the early days back when they were known simply as ‘the Americans’ all way until present day status quo being one NBA's most recognizable teams ever assembled! It stands testament to the perseverance and dedication put forth by both players and coaches alike during times of highs and lows throughout history—making this particular emblematic symbol much more than just another simple sports logo design: rather something sacred which brings together collective spirit and shared love game basketball no matter what jersey color may be wearing underneath lights court night after night season year round!
