Washington Bullets
1988 - 1997
The Bullets made some dramatic changes to their logo. They changed the font, changed to a lighter blue, capitalized the letter "B" and changed back to a red with white outline basketball.
Bullets Primary Logo
The Washington Bullets' primary logo has a long and storied history, one that dates back to 1973. The original design featured an illustration of a Revolutionary War-era Minuteman carrying a musket with the words “Washington Bullets” written in script beneath him. This logo was used for over two decades until 1997 when the team changed its name to the Washington Wizards and updated its branding accordingly.
In 2011, after much fan outcry for its return, the franchise decided to bring back its classic “bullets” look as part of an overall rebranding effort. The new logo featured a more modern take on their previous design by replacing the musket-bearing minuteman with an abstract rendering of three stars arranged in a circular formation around what appears to be either bullets or rockets taking off from within it—an homage both to D.C.'s military roots and space exploration ambitions alike!
The current iteration of this iconic symbol debuted during the 2017–18 season when they unveiled yet another update featuring bolder colors (red & yellow) along with some other minor tweaks such as adding additional stars at each point where two lines intersected inside the circle which gave it even more depth than before! Today's version is still instantly recognizable as being associated with Washington's NBA team; no matter how many times they change up their look throughout the years one thing remains constant: Their beloved primary Logo will always remain timelessly connected to them forevermore!
