Rockets Wordmark Logo
The Houston Rockets have a long and storied history that is reflected in their iconic wordmark logo. The original logo was first used when the team joined the NBA in 1967, featuring an orange basketball with a yellow outline set against a white background. This design remained unchanged for more than 30 years until it was replaced by another classic look: an italicized red font with black outlining to create contrast. The current iteration of this logo debuted during the 1995-1996 season and features two interlocking “H”s on either side of three stars, all inside a thick circle outlined by thin red lines.
This modern version has become synonymous with success; it has been seen on championship banners since 1994 as well as countless jerseys are worn by some of the greatest players ever to play in Houston—including Hakeem Olajuwon, Yao Ming, and James Harden—allowing fans around the world to recognize its significance immediately upon sight. It also serves as inspiration for other teams looking to find ways they can make their own mark within professional sports leagues like NBA or NFL alike while still maintaining unique identities from one another at a large scale level.
The evolution of this iconic wordmark reflects how much progress both the Houston Rockets organization itself, as well its fan base have made over time. From humble beginnings back in 1967 to becoming one of the most recognizable logos across the entire sports landscape today -Houston rockets' Logo stands out among the rest due to its timelessness & ability to capture the essence city where the franchise resides & spirit which drives them forward each day towards greatness!
