Portland Trailblazers
The main change is the swap of the colors in the pinwheel, with red moving up top, and white – instead of silver – going to the bottom. There’s also a slight design change in terms of the angles and the ends of the pinwheel which do look pretty nice. As for other changes, the font has been updated — there are now serifs on both the “P” and “T” — and the lines are now at a 45 degree angle, which according to the team represents “the 45th Parallel North that leads on a path to the Northwest region.” Anyone who has driven over and over again past that 45th Parallel sign on I-5 in Salem can attest to that.
Trailblazers Alternate Logo
The Portland Trailblazers have had a long and storied history with their alternate logo. The team has gone through several iterations of the logo since it first came into existence in 1970. From the classic pinwheel design to more modern takes, each version has its own unique look that captures the spirit of Portland’s basketball team.
The original Blazers' alternate logo was created in 1977 and featured a red pinwheel centered on an orange circle with four black stripes radiating out from it like spokes on a wheel. This iconic design is still used today as part of the official uniform for home games at Moda Center, although it was slightly modified when Nike took over as apparel sponsor for NBA teams in the 2017-2018 season by adding two white lines along each side to create an eight-pointed star shape within the pinwheel itself.
More recently, in 2019, Adidas introduced new uniforms featuring an updated version of this classic Blazers alternate logo: A large “P” inside a basketball hoop surrounded by five stars representing Oregon's five major cities (Portland being one). It also includes "Rip City" written across both sides which is another popular nickname for Portland given its close proximity to Mt Hood Ski Area where many skiers come down "ripping". This new take on their traditional symbol shows how much pride fans have taken ownership of their beloved franchise while also showing off some local flavor that makes them stand out from other teams around the league!
