Cardinals Alternate Logo

The Chicago Cardinals, established in 1898, have a long and storied history regarding their alternate logo. The first iteration of the logo was introduced in 1920 and featured a cardinal perched atop an oval shield with the team's name written on it. This design remained relatively unchanged until 1947, when the team changed its colors from red and black to white, blue, yellow, and orange. In 1960, they updated their alternate logo again by adding two stars above the shield meant to represent Illinois' state flag.

The 2003-04 season saw yet another redesign of this iconic mark as they added three stripes across its base and additional text that reads “Chicago Football” underneath it all. This version was used for five seasons before being replaced by an even more modernized look which included subtle changes such as removing some of the text while keeping others like “Cardinals” intact at the center stage next to a new circular shape surrounding everything else within this badge-inspired design element complete with sharp edges throughout each line work found inside this piecework masterpiece!
