The new logo features only subtle changes, replacing the black outline around the lion with a silver one and sharpening the image. A fierce leaping blue lion still has the white then silver outline. A flowing mane and fangs as facial features are added.
Lions Alternate Logo
The Detroit Lions are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history. They have had a long and rich tradition, dating back to their origins as the Portsmouth Spartans in 1930. Throughout their existence, they have had several alternate logos used for special occasions or to freshen up the team's look from time to time.
One of these alternate logos was introduced during Super Bowl XLVIII when they unveiled a new version featuring two lions facing each other with crossed swords behind them and red accents throughout. This logo was used for only one season before it was replaced by another design that featured three lions standing side by side with blue accents instead of red ones on either side. The third lion represented strength, courage, and unity within the franchise while also symbolizing its commitment to Detroit’s community at large; this logo lasted until 2017 when yet another redesign took place, which saw all three lions removed from view but still present within an abstract pattern on both sides of a shield shape containing “Detroit” written inside it along with stars around its edges representing Michigan's flag colors - blue & white – making this latest iteration more modern looking than any previous versions before it!
Overall, there has been quite an evolution over time regarding how many different looks that fans can expect from their beloved team over the years, even though some may prefer specific designs more than others due to personal preference or nostalgia value associated with them (i..e original Spartan helmet), overall changes like these help keep things fresh & exciting while simultaneously paying homage those who made such iconic moments possible throughout history – something we should never forget!
