Saints Wordmark Logo

The New Orleans Saints have a long and storied history represented in their iconic wordmark logo. The NFL Properties design director, Pat Peppler, created the team's original logo in 1967 when the franchise first joined the league. It consists of an outline of a fleur-de-lis set inside two circles with “Saints” written across it. This simple yet effective design has become synonymous with New Orleans football over time and continues to be featured prominently on team apparel today.

Since its inception, there have been several iterations of this classic logo, but all contain elements from the original version designed by Peppler almost 50 years ago. In 2005, for example, artist Michael Sullo redesigned it to include black outlining around each circle and adding shading effects on both sides for added depth and dimensionality—elements that remain part of today's mark (albeit much more subtle). Additionally, slight alterations were made to the font used within each circle during recent decades, such as changing from italicized lettering back into a regular typeface or using different colors like gold or white instead of black depending upon context/usage needs at any given moment in time.

Overall though, despite these minor changes, one thing remains consistent: fans can always recognize this beloved symbol wherever they go, no matter what form it may take because deep down, they know that behind every alteration lies an enduring legacy built up over many generations steeped heavily in tradition—all thanks mainly due to one man's incredible vision so many years ago when he first put pen (or brush) to paper creating something truly special out nothingness...the timeless emblem we now call home: The New Orleans Saints Wordmark Logo!
