Dolphins Wordmark Logo

The Miami Dolphins wordmark logo is one of the most iconic logos in all of the professional sports. It has been around since 1966, when it was first introduced as part of their original uniform design. The logo consists of a large white ‘M’ with two orange dolphins on either side and an orange sunburst behind them. This simple yet powerful design has remained virtually unchanged for over fifty years and remains one of the most recognizable logos in sports today.

The history behind this classic logo dates back to 1965, when Joe Robbie founded the team after being awarded an expansion franchise from the NFL that same year. He wanted a unique look for his new team, so he enlisted graphic designer Tony Caravella to create something easily recognized by fans everywhere – thus, giving birth to what we now know as “the Miami Dolphins Wordmark Logo”! Since then, it has become synonymous with success; winning two Super Bowls (1972 & 1973) and countless division titles have only solidified its place among some of the sport's most significant symbols ever created!

Today, you can find this iconic symbol just about anywhere: on t-shirts and hats worn by fans worldwide, at stadiums or arenas during games, and even on tattoos permanently etched into people's skin – all proudly displaying their support for America's favorite football team - The Miami Dolphins! Although minor tweaks have been made throughout its lifetime, such as color changes or adding additional elements like stars surrounding each letter, none can deny how particular this timeless piece is…it truly stands alone amongst other teams' marks across any sport!
