Colts Alternate Logo
The Indianapolis Colts alternate logo has a long and storied history, dating back to 1953. Then-owner Robert Irsay created the original design for team merchandise and apparel. It featured a blue horseshoe with white stars, which was meant to represent the strength of the team’s defense. This logo would remain in use until 1983, when it was replaced with an updated version featuring three interlocking horseshoes instead of one large one.
The next iteration of the Colts' alternate logo came in 1997 when they unveiled their current “Colts Horsehead” design as part of their move from Baltimore to Indianapolis that same year. This new look included a more detailed horse head surrounded by two crossed swords meant to symbolize courage and loyalty – essential for success in any sport or endeavor! Since its introduction, this iconic image has become synonymous with both sports teams across America and Indiana itself, making it one of the most recognizable logos today!
Over time, minor tweaks have been made here and there but overall, this classic emblem remains unchanged since its creation over 20 years ago - a testament not only to its timelessness but also to how beloved it is among fans everywhere who proudly wear these colors each game day! Whether you're cheering on your favorite NFL franchise or simply showing off some hometown pride at home games throughout Lucas Oil Stadium, make sure you don your trusty old Indy Colt's Alternate Logo gear, so everyone knows where your allegiances lie come kick-off time!
