Pelicans Wordmark Logo
The New Orleans Pelicans have a long and storied history, dating back to their inception in 2002. The team has gone through many logo changes over the years, but one of the most iconic is its current wordmark logo. This wordmark was unveiled in 2013 and features two large pelicans with an orange circle around them that spells out “Pelicans” in bold typeface. The bird on top represents Louisiana's state bird - the brown pelican - while the bottom one symbolizes New Orleans' cityscape with its signature buildings and bridges.
This new design marked a significant shift from previous logos which were more cartoonish or featured illustrations instead of words, making it easier for fans to recognize at any distance or angle. It also gave off an aura of strength due to its sharp edges as well as modernity thanks to its unique font choice – something that wasn't seen before on NBA team logos at this time period.
Overall, this new logo has been extremely successful for both players and spectators alike since it was first introduced seven years ago; not only does it represent what makes up Louisiana's culture but also gives off a sense of pride when worn by those who support their beloved home team: The New Orleans Pelicans!
