Canucks Alternate Logo
The Vancouver Canucks have a long and storied history of alternate logos. The team’s first alternate logo was introduced in 1978 when the Canucks adopted a skating orca as their primary logo. This design featured an orange and black color scheme with the words “Vancouver Canucks” written across it. This particular look lasted until 1997 when the team decided to switch up its branding with a more modern take on its original logo.
In 2002, the Vancouver Canucks unveiled their second alternate logo: an updated version of their classic skate-wearing orca design featuring blue and green colors instead of orange and black ones. This new look also included two hockey sticks crossed behind it that added some extra flair to this already iconic image. The same year they released this new brand identity, they went on to win back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 2011 & 2012, which further cemented this beloved symbol into Canuck culture forever!
The most recent addition to Vancouver's lineup is another update of their classic skate-wearing orca from 2018 - but now sporting three shades; navy blue for the water/ice element; white for the snow/cloud element; along with greyish silver accentuating light reflection off ice surface all combining perfectly represent what makes Canada's national sport so great! It has been used ever since then alongside other versions such as wordmark logos & vintage crests that all make up part of the rich visual heritage associated with one of North America's oldest professional sports teams: The mighty Vancouvers'Canucks!
