Blue Jackets Alternate Logo
The Columbus Blue Jackets have a long and storied history regarding their alternate logo. Shortly after the team's inaugural season, the original alternate logo was introduced in 2000. It featured an anthropomorphic blue jacket with a hockey stick in one hand and a puck in the other, standing atop what appears to be either ice or snow. This design was used until 2011 when they changed it slightly by adding white stars around the edges of the image and some subtle changes to its overall shape.
In 2016, another new version of this iconic logo debuted for use on certain merchandise items such as hats and shirts. This updated version kept much of what made people love its predecessor while also introducing several new elements, including an aggressive font for “CBJ” at the top along with two crossed swords below that were meant to symbolize strength and courage, both traits which are essential qualities needed by any successful hockey player or team!
Today, this unique take on classic sports branding remains popular among fans who appreciate its simplicity yet powerful symbolism – something that will continue into future seasons no matter how many times they may choose to update it again down the line! Ultimately though, regardless if you prefer old school or modern designs alike, there’s no denying that these different iterations all hold special significance within Columbus Blue Jackets' proud history!
