Coyotes Wordmark Logo

The Arizona Coyotes had a long and storied history with their logo, beginning in 1996 when they were known as the Phoenix Coyotes. The original design featured a coyote howling at the moon against an orange and purple background. This logo was used until 2003 when it was replaced by one featuring two crossed tomahawks in front of a red starburst on an all-black background. This new look represented strength and power and conveyed motion to represent the team’s speed on the ice.

In 2014, after much anticipation from fans of both hockey teams and logos alike, the Arizona Coyotes unveiled their current wordmark logo: “Arizona Coyotes” written across three lines in bold font surrounded by two Native American feathers symbolizing the unity between players past and present & future. It is meant to evoke pride for those who live or play within its borders while paying homage to its roots as part of desert Southwest culture & tradition. The grey color scheme conveys sophistication while still being modern enough for today's game-day aesthetics.

The Arizona Coyote's wordmark has become iconic throughout professional sports leagues worldwide due to its unique combination of traditional elements with modern designs that capture what it truly means to be an Arizonan - resilient yet proud!
