Thrashers Alternate Logo
The Atlanta Thrashers' alternate logo history is a unique and interesting one. The team was established in 1999 as the NHL's 29th franchise, and its original logo featured a fierce bird of prey clutching an ice hockey stick in its talons with the words "Atlanta Thrashers" written across it. This design was used until 2011 when they switched to their current primary logo featuring a stylized letter A with wings on either side.
However, during this time period from 1999-2011, there were also several alternate logos that were used by the team for special occasions or merchandise purposes only. One such example is the “Screaming Eagle” which features an eagle head inside of an outline of Georgia state surrounded by stars representing each city within it - this design has become particularly popular among fans over the years due to its boldness and symbolism for both Atlanta and hockey culture alike!
Another example would be the “Thrash Logo” which depicts two crossed sticks behind what appears to be flames - likely meant as an homage to traditional fire branding techniques often seen at old-timey farms or ranches; again emphasizing how important local heritage can play into designing effective sports logos!
In conclusion, while not all may remember these designs today due to them being relegated solely for use on merchandise items or special events like outdoor games; they are still part of what makes up Atlanta Thrasher's rich visual identity that continues even now after switching away from those older designs back in 2011.
