North Stars Primary Logo
The Minnesota North Stars were a professional ice hockey team that played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1967 to 1993. During their 26 years of existence, they had three primary logos. The first logo was used during the inaugural season and featured a stylized “MN” with an orange star inside of it, set against a white background surrounded by green trimming. This design represented both the state of Minnesota and its nickname as “the Star State” while also fitting into NHL's original six-team era branding style at the time.
In 1978, after 11 seasons with their first logo, The North Stars updated their look by introducing two stars above an italicized "Minnesota" lettering on top of red and green stripes representing both Canada's national colors as well as those found on Minnesota's flag at that time - this became known as "The Stripes". This new emblem replaced all prior versions for over 10 years until 1988 when it was slightly modified to include more vibrant shades in order to better represent modern color schemes being used throughout sports leagues around the world; however, despite these changes made within its core design elements remained largely unchanged up until 1993 when they moved cities becoming Dallas' Texas Stars afterward thus ending use entirely.
Overall, The MN Logo not only served well visually speaking but also symbolically since it embodied everything which characterized them: strength, pride & resilience; qualities which will forever be remembered fondly by fans who followed them through thick n thin till the end.
