San Jose Sharks
The new and still active primary logo arrived for 2007 – 2008. The shark is much more three-dimensional, menacing, powerful. It’s bursting out of the logo to bite the hockey stick. Its teeth are razor sharp and its eyes glow with the same yellowy orange.
Sharks Alternate Logo
The San Jose Sharks are one of North America's most iconic hockey teams, and their alternate logo has gone through several iterations over the years. The original logo was created in 1991 when the team first entered into NHL play as an expansion franchise. This logo featured a teal triangle with a shark head, representing speed and strength.
In 1998, this design was updated to feature more detail on the shark’s face and a black outline around it for greater visibility from afar. This version also included two curved lines that were meant to symbolize fins; however, these details often went unnoticed by fans due to their small size relative to other elements of the design.
Finally, in 2007, after sixteen years with its predecessor's look intact –the San Jose Sharks introduced yet another alternate logo featuring even more detailed artwork than before, along with brighter colors like orange and yellow that made it stand out even further from previous designs while still maintaining its classic feel overall. Despite some initial criticism regarding its appearance at launch, this latest iteration has become widely accepted amongst die-hard fans who appreciate how much effort went into creating such an intricate piece of artwork for them all to enjoy wearing proudly on game days.
