Maroons Primary Logo
The Montreal Maroons were one of the first professional hockey teams in North America, and their primary logo has a long history that dates back to the early 1920s. The original logo featured an image of a maroon-colored shield with two crossed hockey sticks inside it. This design was used until 1931 when it was replaced by the iconic “M” logo which is still used today.
The M symbolizes both Montreal and Maroons, as well as representing strength and courage - qualities that have been synonymous with this team since its inception over 90 years ago. It also reflects on how much progress they’ve made over time; from being one of only four teams in 1924 to becoming Stanley Cup Champions just three years later in 1927!
In addition to this classic design, there have been several other logos created for special occasions throughout their histories such as anniversaries or commemorative events like centennials or Olympics games hosted by Canada (in 1976). These designs often feature unique elements such as color changes or additional symbols along with traditional aspects like the M itself but all remain true to what makes them so recognizable: simplicity & power!
For example, during their 75th-anniversary celebration, they released an alternate version featuring a black background instead of white while retaining everything else about it – including those powerful crossed sticks at its center which represent not only victory but also loyalty amongst fans & players alike who support each other through thick & thin no matter what happens on game day!
As we look forward to future seasons for our beloved Canadiens de Montréal let us take some time now to appreciate these timeless symbols that are part of our past and present culture – even if sometimes we forget where come from… Go Habs Go!!
