Scouts Primary Logo
The Kansas City Scouts are an NHL team that has existed since 1974. They have a long and rich history, with the primary logo being one of the most recognizable symbols in hockey. The original logo for the Scouts was designed by Gene Parkes and Gary Sartain, a lettering artist from Hallmark Cards, who did the detailing, cleanup, and color. It featured a scout silhouette on top of a red, white, and blue shield with stars surrounding it. This design was used until 1978, when they changed their name to “Kansas City Blades” and adopted new logos that were more modernized versions of their previous designs.
In 1988, after another change in ownership brought about yet another name change (this time to “Kansas City Mavericks”) came along an all-new primary logo which still stands today as one of the most iconic images associated with professional hockey teams across North America: A large letter K surrounded by two smaller Cs in black outlined against a bright yellow background - easily distinguishable from any other NHL team's emblem at first glance! The Kansas City Mavericks also had several alternate logos throughout its existence. Still, none could match up to this classic look, which has become synonymous with them and professional ice hockey overall.
Today, even though there is no longer an active franchise bearing this particular moniker or crest within league play anymore (the last season for KCM ended back in 2010), fans can still find merchandise featuring these beloved graphics everywhere, from apparel stores online down to local sports bars – keeping alive what many consider one of best visual identities ever created during NHL's early years! While some may not remember much else about those days except maybe Wayne Gretzky tearing up rinks every night, at least we'll always have our memories attached firmly embedded into those timeless emblems like so many others before us who proudly wore them on their chest whenever they stepped onto a frozen pond.
