Colt 45's Alternate Logo

The Houston Colt .45s is a Major League Baseball team that has been around since 1962 and is currently known as the Houston Astros. The team's alternate logo history dates back to its inception when they were first established in 1962. The original logo featured an image of a cowboy on horseback with two six-shooters crossed over his chest. This logo was used until 1965 when it was replaced by a more modern design featuring the same silhouette but with an orange background instead of black and white.

In 1968, the Colt .45s changed their name to the Astros and redesignated their logos accordingly; this time featuring an astronaut standing atop a starburst pattern inside of an orange circle surrounded by stars representing Texas’ Lone Star State status. This iconic design remained unchanged until 1993 when it underwent another transformation – this one adding blue accents along with “Houston” written across its top half in gold lettering - which has become what we know today as "the classic" Astro's look!

Finally, for the 2018 season onward, the Astros unveiled yet another new alternate logo: A bright yellow-and-orange badge that features "HOUSTON" written across its center flanked on either side by two interlocking stars reminiscent of those found within our nation's flag - symbolizing the unity between all fans who support them regardless where they come from or how long they've been following baseball! With these changes made throughout the years, it can be said that while some things have stayed consistent (like keeping true to Texas' heritage) others have evolved greatly over time making sure everyone knows just how much pride goes into being part of a fan base like no other!
