Athletics Alternate Logo

The Philadelphia Athletics has a long and storied history in Major League Baseball, with an alternate logo that dates back to the team's founding. The original logo was created by legendary artist Charles M. Conlon in 1909 and featured a white elephant wearing an A on its chest, representing the initials of the team’s name. This design has been used ever since as part of their official branding and is still seen today on merchandise such as jerseys, hats, t-shirts, etc.

In 1955 however, they changed their primary logo to one featuring two crossed bats above “Athletics” written out in script lettering along with a baseball cap underneath it all - this new look would last until 1970 when they reverted back to using just the white elephant symbol again for another decade before switching things up once more during 1979-80 season when they added some color elements (green & yellow) into their traditional emblem which remained unchanged until 1997 when current owner Steve Phillips decided it was time for something new – thus introducing fans around the world yet another version of iconic Philadelphia Athletics Logo; one that features modernized take on classic Elephant mascot complete w/wordmark reading “Philadelphia ATHLETICS” written across the bottom half

Today we can see many different versions of this beloved icon being used throughout MLB stadiums not only by Philly faithful but also by other teams who find themselves inspired by the unique design aesthetic associated w/it; whether through apparel items or signage found inside the ballpark itself there no doubt about how much impact original artwork had over years now making it almost impossible imagine what sport would look like without presence iconic White Elephant!
