Giants Wordmark Logo

The New York Giants have held a long and storied history in Major League Baseball, with the team’s iconic logo has been around since the early 1900s. The current version of the logo was created in 1946 and has remained largely unchanged ever since. It features an old-fashioned baseball set against a blue backdrop that is adorned with white stars to represent America's national flag. The wordmark “New York Giants” appears prominently above this image, while two smaller words appear beneath it: “Baseball Club” and “Established 1883."

The original design for this logo dates back to 1902 when Charles Stoneham purchased the franchise from its previous owner John Tener. At that time, he changed its name from "New York Gothams" to "Giants," as well as introduced their now recognizable black-and-orange colors along with an updated brand identity featuring a classic baseball illustration surrounded by stars—a nod both to America's national flag and Stoneham's own patriotism towards his home country of Ireland (which also happens to feature orange on its official flag).
