Blue Jays Wordmark Logo

The Toronto Blue Jays wordmark logo is one of the most recognizable logos in Major League Baseball. The iconic blue jay with a white “T” for Toronto has been around since 1977 when the team first joined MLB as an expansion franchise. Over the years, there have been some slight modifications to make it more modern and appealing to fans.

The original version was designed by Alan Siegel & Associates and featured a blue jay with its wings spread out against a white background that contained two black stripes at either side of the bird's body along with a red maple leaf on its chest representing Canada's national symbol. The font used was also unique; it had serifs but no other decoration or embellishments which made it look simple yet powerful enough to be easily recognized from afar even without the color is present in any form whatsoever!

Since then, several new versions have come out including ones featuring different fonts and colors such as navy blue or teal green instead of plain old black & white like before; however, none are quite as iconic as this original design which still stands today after 44 years!
