Colt 45's Primary Logo
The Houston Colt 45's primary logo history is a tale of growth and innovation. The team began in 1962 when the National League awarded an expansion franchise to the city of Houston. The original logo featured a white baseball with red stitching on a navy blue background, accompanied by two crossed silver pistols with orange accents underneath it. This design was used for just one season before being replaced in 1963 by an updated version that included more detail and color to better represent the Texas region where they were based.
The second iteration of their logo featured two crossed revolvers set against an orange circle surrounded by stars; this time, however, both guns had detailed grips made out of woodgrain-like material instead of solid colors like before. Additionally, there were now three stars above each pistol’s muzzle pointing upwards towards the central star at the top - representing Texas' status as part of "the Lone Star State". This version remained unchanged until 1970 when it underwent another transformation into its current form: two silver revolvers still crossed but this time overtops a larger yellow star outlined in black which sat atop five smaller white ones arranged around its circumference - all encased within another dark blue circle shape similar to what we see today on uniforms and merchandise alike!
It is clear that throughout its history (spanning from 1962 up until the present day), the Colt 45's has maintained some elements while also evolving others as needed; be it changing colors or adding details such as stars or wood grain textures - these small tweaks have allowed them to keep up with modern trends while also staying true to their roots down south! Ultimately though no matter how much things may change over time one thing remains constant: Their iconic revolver symbol will always remain synonymous with baseball success here in Houston TX!
