Dodgers Alternate Logo
The Brooklyn Dodgers are one of the most iconic teams in Major League Baseball history. The team has a long and storied past, with its roots stretching back to the 1880s. One of the most recognizable symbols associated with this team is its alternate logos throughout its history. These logos have changed over time but still represent an important part of baseball’s culture and heritage in New York City.
The first logo for the Brooklyn Dodgers was designed by sports artist Henry Alonzo Keller in 1914, when he created a shield featuring crossed bats behind an interlocking “B” and “D” which were meant to symbolize brotherhood between players on opposing sides of a game or series. This design was used until 1932 when it was replaced by another logo that featured two intertwined B's inside a circle, which represented unity among fans as well as players alike during games at Ebbets Field where they played their home games from 1913-1957 before moving out west to Los Angeles after 1957 season ended.
In 1947, famed illustrator Walter Johnson redesigned this logo into what we now know today – two blue script lettering spelling out "Brooklyn" above red script lettering spelling out "Dodgers." This new design also incorporated stars around both words that could be seen representing America's national pastime - baseball - being celebrated within New York City limits for years following the World War II era up until the present day! It is no surprise then why so many people associate these colors together when thinking about 'the boys' from Flatbush Avenue who brought joyous occasions (and championships) year after year despite being underdogs compared to other teams across the MLB landscape throughout decades since inception back in 1914 season!
