Giants Wordmark Logo

The San Francisco Giants have been a part of Major League Baseball since the late 1800s, and their iconic wordmark logo has been an integral part of their brand identity for nearly as long. The original logo was designed in 1958 by Walter A. Haas Jr., who created it to represent the team's commitment to excellence on and off the field. Since then, there have been several iterations of this classic design over its more than sixty-year existence.

The earliest version featured a bold black font with white trimming that incorporated both “SF” and “Giants” into one design element; however, during much of the 1960s through 1980s era teams wore uniforms featuring only “SF” or just plain text reading "Giants". In 1991 they changed up their look yet again when they unveiled what is now known as their signature script wordmark which features two distinct colors: orange for SF and black for Giants along with white outlining each letterform creating contrast between them - all within an oval shape outline representing unity amongst players & fans alike!

Today's modern rendition sees slight variations from time to time but still remains true in spirit & style to its roots from almost six decades ago – showcasing how powerful branding can be when done right! From it being worn proudly by players on game day jerseys or seen adorning souvenirs at AT&T Park – no matter where you go around town (or even around the world) there is no mistaking that this classic emblem belongs exclusively to San Francisco's beloved baseball team: The SF Giants!
