San Diego Padres
For the 2020 season, the Padres unveiled a new color for their primary logo, featuring the interlocked initials “SD” in brown.
Padres Alternate Logo
The first iteration of an alternative logo came in 1969 when they adopted an orange circle containing two white baseballs on either side flanked by two blue stars at each corner as seen on their caps during this time period. In 1972 they changed it again to include just one star at each corner along with three interlocking rings inside representing California's three major league teams: The Giants (San Francisco), A's (Oakland), and Dodgers (Los Angeles). Then from 1979-1984, no official changes were made but many unofficial minor tweaks occurred such as adding more details or slightly altering colors until finally settling on what we now know today as "the swingin' friar".
Introduced in 1984, this new design featured a cartoonish depiction of St Francis wearing traditional religious garb and swinging his walking stick around like a bat which quickly became popular among fans who appreciated its fun yet timeless feel - so much so that it remains part of Padres identity even after 35 years! From there only slight alterations have been made over time such as adjusting colors or making other minor adjustments but overall this version remains largely unchanged since being introduced back then which speaks volumes about how beloved it truly is amongst both players & supporters alike!
