Devil Rays Wordmark Logo
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have been around since 1998, and their current wordmark logo has been in use since then. The team’s original wordmark featured a cartoonish devil character with a pitchfork and the words “Tampa Bay Devil Rays” written underneath. This design was intended to be fun and lighthearted, but it quickly became outdated as trends changed over time.
In 2007, the team unveiled its new logo featuring an abstract sunburst shape behind stylized lettering spelling out “Devil Rays” in all caps. This design is much more modern than the previous one and better captures the spirit of Tampa Bay with its bright colors that evoke sunshine on blue waters. It also features some subtle details such as small rays coming off of each letter which adds depth to this simple yet effective mark.
Overall, despite several changes over two decades, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have managed to keep their branding consistent while still evolving it enough so that they remain relevant in today's sports landscape. Their current wordmark logo is both recognizable yet fresh at the same time - making sure fans always know who they are rooting for!
