Devil Rays Primary Logo
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have had a long and colorful history with their primary logo. The team was founded in 1998, and the original logo featured a devil ray fish with an electric blue background. This design was intended to capture the spirit of Florida's coastal waters, while also representing the strength of the new franchise.
In 2008, the team changed its name to just "Rays" and unveiled a new primary logo featuring two interlocking rays above an orange sunburst on a navy blue background. This design captured both elements from their previous identity as well as invoking images of sunshine that are associated with the Tampa Bay area itself. It also served to represent unity among both fans and players alike by emphasizing teamwork through its dual-ray imagery.
Though there have been some minor changes over time - such as color tweaks or trimming details - this has remained largely unchanged since it first debuted in 2008; however, recently there has been talked about introducing another rebranding effort for 2021 which could potentially bring further updates to this beloved symbol for Rays fans everywhere!
