FC Cincinnati Alternate Logo
FC Cincinnati is a professional soccer team in the United States. The club was founded in 2015 and plays its home games at Nippert Stadium, located on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. FC Cincinnati has had several logos throughout its history, each representing different aspects of the city’s culture and identity.
The first logo used by FC Cincinnati was unveiled in 2016 when they joined Major League Soccer (MLS). It featured a large “C” with two stars above it to represent both Ohio and Hamilton County where the team is based. The colors used were black, orange, white, blue, and gray which are all representative colors for various parts of town such as UC Bearcats athletics or local high schools like Moeller High School or St Xavier High School. This logo only lasted one season before being replaced by another design that incorporated more elements from downtown Cincy including streetcars, bridges, buildings & skyline.
In 2019 FC Cincinnati introduced an updated version of its alternate logo featuring an outline shape resembling Ohio's state flag with stripes running across it connected together by four stars within its borders representing four major cities: Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo & Dayton respectively. Inside this shape sits three interlocking circles forming what looks like a shield while also paying homage to traditional German-style crest designs seen often elsewhere throughout Europe's top leagues/clubs giving a nod towards our city's rich heritage stemming back generations ago through many immigrants who came here seeking better life opportunities during 19th-century industrial revolution era thus making up much today’s cultural landscape we see today here locally around Greater Cincinnatian area!
