Revolution Primary Logo
The New England Revolution is a professional soccer team based in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The team's primary logo has gone through several iterations since its inception in 1996. From the original shield design to the current logo featuring a star-spangled banner, each version of the logo has been an iconic representation of the club and its fans.
The original shield design was used from 1996 to 2002 and featured three stars arranged around an image of Revolutionary War hero Paul Revere riding his horse with “Revolution” written across it. This first iteration served as a tribute to those who fought for freedom during America’s fight for independence from Great Britain during that time period. It also represented strength and resilience – two traits that have become synonymous with New Englanders over time – which made this initial choice fitting for such an important symbol within their brand identity system.
In 2003, they switched up their look by introducing more modern elements into their branding scheme: A new crest shape along with four white stars surrounding it on top; blue stripes representing Boston Harbor underneath; red triangles at either side signifying speed; black lines outlining everything else — all these features came together beautifully to create one unified whole that could be easily identified as belonging solely to them amongst other teams within Major League Soccer (MLS). The most recent update occurred in 2015 when they changed out some colors while keeping many aspects intact including those same four white stars which still remain today! Despite minor adjustments being made throughout years past - this basic layout remains largely unchanged even now - proving just how timelessly classic yet simultaneously dynamic it truly is!

A stylized letter “R”, invoking the club’s name, in a style reminiscent of the Revolutionary War era. A red strikethrough of the letter “R” roots the club’s identity in the defiant and patriotic spirit of the American Revolution. The seal is bordered by a design emblematic of traditional flag drapery with details embodying patriotic bunting. To form the official crest, a wordmark “NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION” in the blue and inaugural season – 1996 – are inscribed in a circle with a navy blue border.
