FC Dallas Primary Logo

FC Dallas has a long and storied history, with their primary logo playing an important role in the club’s identity. The first FC Dallas logo was introduced in 1996 when the team joined Major League Soccer as one of its original ten franchises. It featured a blue starburst emblem with white lettering around it that read “Dallas Burn,” which was the team's name at that time. This design remained unchanged until 2004 when they rebranded as FC Dallas and changed their primary logo to include two red stars above a shield-shaped crest featuring crossed swords on either side of an orange soccer ball bordered by black stripes and bearing the letters “F” for Football Club (FC) and “D" for Dallas below it. This new badge is still used today, although there have been some minor modifications over time such as changing from serif typeface to sans-serif font or adding additional elements like flames behind each sword blade or outlining them in gold instead of black stripes.
