Braves Wordmark Logo

The Atlanta Braves wordmark logo has been around since the team's inception in 1871. The original logo was a simple script font with an image of a tomahawk and two crossed baseball bats behind it. This design remained unchanged until 1966 when the team adopted its current wordmark logo featuring an italicized typeface spelling out "Braves" with three feathers extending from the first letter of each word.

Over time, minor changes have been made to this iconic design including adding color to make it more vibrant and modernizing certain elements such as making the letters thicker or altering their shape slightly for better balance. In addition, several alternative versions of this classic mark have also been created throughout its history including one that featured a circular background containing various tribal symbols associated with Native American culture—a nod to both Atlanta’s heritage and their nickname “the Braves”—as well as another version which simply used black-and-white stripes instead of colors for added contrast on uniforms or other apparel items.

Today, despite numerous alterations over almost 150 years, the basic structure and essence remain unchanged; symbolizing strength through unity while proudly representing not only Major League Baseball but all professional sports teams in general who share similar logos across different leagues worldwide ––allowing fans everywhere recognize them at just one glance!
