FC Dallas Wordmark Logo

FC Dallas is an American professional soccer team that has been part of Major League Soccer (MLS) since 1996. The club was originally founded as the Dallas Burn in 1995, but it underwent a rebranding in 2005 and changed its name to FC Dallas. The logo for the new brand featured a red star with two concentric circles surrounding it, along with white lettering spelling out “FC DALLAS” above and below the star. This logo quickly became one of MLS’s most recognizable symbols and remains an important part of FC Dallas's identity today.

The original design was created by local graphic designer Mike Overbeck, who drew inspiration from his own experiences as a fan watching games at what used to be known as Cotton Bowl Stadium before being renamed Pizza Hut Park (now Toyota Stadium). He wanted to create something unique that would capture both the spirit of Texas football culture while also representing modern soccer style – hence why he chose to incorporate elements like stars into his design work on this project.

In 2014, when FC Dallas moved their home stadium again - this time across town - they decided it was time for another update on their wordmark logo; however, instead of opting for drastic changes they only made minor adjustments such as adding more curves around edges which helped give off softer vibes overall compared previous version's sharp lines throughout the entire image area. It still features the same core elements from past designs including the famous red star alongside classic font typeface so fans can recognize it instantly even though there are slight differences between them now after all these years later!
