Real Salt Lake Primary Logo

Real Salt Lake's primary logo has a rich history that dates back to the team's inception in 2004. The original design was created by RSL owner Dave Checketts and his wife, Debra, who wanted something unique and iconic for their new Major League Soccer franchise. The logo features a jagged mountain range with two peaks encircling an interlocking “RSL” monogram. These mountains represent the Wasatch Range in Utah which serves as the backdrop of Rio Tinto Stadium where Real Salt Lake plays its home games.

The colors used on this logo are also symbolic; red is meant to symbolize passion while blue stands for loyalty and commitment from fans towards their club - both of which have been staples of Real Salt Lake since its founding more than 15 years ago. Additionally, there is white between each peak representing unity among all supporters regardless if they are from different backgrounds or countries around the world who come together under one banner: RSL!

Over time, minor changes have been made such as adding stars above each peak to signify championships won (MLS Cup 2009 & 2013) but at its core, it remains largely unchanged since 2004 when it first debuted alongside other MLS teams like D.C United and LA Galaxy during what was then called "MLS Launch Day". This timeless classic continues to be loved by soccer fans everywhere making it one of the most recognizable logos not just within MLS but across all professional sports leagues worldwide today!
