Wizards Wordmark Logo
The Kansas City Wizards, now known as Sporting Kansas City, have had an interesting journey when it comes to their wordmark logo. The club was founded in 1995 and initially used a shield-style logo featuring the letters “KC” with a wizard holding a soccer ball inside of it. This design would be replaced in 1998 by one that featured another wizard figure along with the words “Kansas City Wizards” written across the bottom.
In 2002, this original look was updated to feature three wavy lines above and below the lettering which gave it more of an abstract feel while still keeping its core elements intact. This version remained until 2007 when they underwent yet another change; this time replacing both wizards with just one larger one situated atop two stars representing each MLS Cup victory (2000 & 2004). It also included new colors such as yellow and light blue which were not present before then giving them more vibrancy than ever before!
Today's current wordmark is much simpler but still effective; featuring just two stars at either side of "Sporting KC" written out in bold white font on top of their signature dark blue background color scheme - making sure everyone knows who they are! Although there have been several changes over time, all these logos remain true to what makes up Kansas City's identity: hard work and determination toward achieving greatness no matter how difficult or unlikely success may seem at first glance!
