Minnesota United FC is a professional soccer team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The club was founded in 2013 and currently plays in Major League Soccer (MLS). Over the years, the team has gone through many changes to its identity and branding, including its wordmark logo.

The original logo for Minnesota United FC featured a simple black-and-white circle with an image of a loon inside it. This design was meant to represent the state’s nickname “the Land of 10,000 Lakes” as well as pay homage to traditional Native American art forms found throughout Minnesota. Additionally, this classic design featured two stars along either side of the bird which represented both past achievements and future aspirations for success within MLS competition.

In 2017 however; after joining MLS from NASL (North American Soccer League), MNUFC unveiled their new primary crest featuring an updated version of their iconic loon symbol surrounded by three stars that were inspired by those used on their original mark but now had been modified into more modern shapes while still retaining some elements from previous designs such as colors or geometric patterns associated with them. This new logo also included a bolder typeface than before along with additional details like feathers around each star that further connected it back to nature themes seen throughout other aspects of MNUFC's brand identity system. Overall these various updates gave fans something fresh yet familiar at the same time when they looked at official merchandise or watched games on television screens all across North America.
