Los Angeles FC Primary Logo
Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is a professional soccer team based in Los Angeles, California. The team was founded in 2014 and began playing its first season of Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2018. LAFC has had several logos since its inception, each one representing the city’s vibrant culture and passion for the sport of soccer.
The primary logo used by LAFC is a shield-shaped design featuring two lions facing each other with wings spread wide open on either side. The colors are black and gold to represent royalty, strength, courage, and honor as well as pay homage to Los Angeles' rich history of sports teams that have featured these colors like the UCLA Bruins or Dodgers baseball club. Additionally, there's a “LAF” monogram at the center which stands for "Los Angeles Football" while also being reminiscent of classic European football clubs such as Barcelona FC or Manchester United who often use similar designs on their logos.
In 2019, after five years since it was first introduced, LAFC revealed its updated primary logo which features some subtle changes from previous versions mainly focusing on making it more modern while still keeping true to what makes it unique: Its iconic lion imagery plus adding new elements like white accents along with brighter shades of yellow & black. This update is aimed at giving fans something fresh yet familiar when they look upon this symbol knowing that represents all things related to Los Angels FC: Winning spirit, loyalty & pride!
